PLVS VLTRA is the first of three Amels 242 superyachts in build. This 74-metre Amels Limited Editions yacht features a Tim Heywood exterior design and is truly an aesthetic masterpiece. Winch Design was selected by the owner to design the interior.

AMELS

Located in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, Amels has been building ships since 1918. The shipyard has built more than 50 luxury yachts since their first luxury cruising delivery in 1982. Amels became part of Damen Shipyards in 1991 and benefits from the Damen group’s outstanding research and innovation expertise and facilities.

AMELS 242

The Amels 242 yacht features an expansive 240 square-metre dedicated owner’s deck, while the elongated main deck aft’s 180 square metres make one big party area with bar, dance floor and a gorgeous 6.5-metre infinity pool. Guests are spoiled with two generously sized main deck vip suites and 3 lower deck guest suites with direct access to the full beam wellness centre and folding beach platform.

Crucial to the comfort

Few onboard systems are more crucial to the comfort and well-being of yacht owners, crew and guests than the climate control system. Heinen & Hopman was selected to deliver the air conditioning, custom-built chilled water plant (equipped with Turbocor compressors), mechanical ventilation supply and mechanical ventilation exhaust.

Design Conditions

The following design conditions were requested:

Air Conditioning Summer

Outside temperature: Summer 35˚C 75% R.H.
Inside temperature: Summer 22˚C 55% R.H.

Heating Winter

Outside temperature: Winter -5˚C 80% R.H.
Inside temperature: Winter 22˚C 35% R.H.
