HVAC Refit | MY Lazy Z

Lazy Z (previously Accolade and later Lady S) was originally built by Oceanco in 1997 in the Netherlands. At that time, the yacht was the largest one the company had launched to date. The vessel accommodates ten guests in a master cabin, four double guest cabins and one twin guest cabin. Equipped with a full-height water slide, Lazy Z remains one of the most popular charter yachts on the market.

Refit activities

After many years of cruising pleasure, the owner decided it was time for a significant cosmetic and mechanical refit at Derecktor Florida shipyard. The existing main engines were replaced with MTU 16V2000s, the exterior of the vessel was painted and the interior of the vessel was comprehensively refitted as well.

Mechanical ventilation upgrade

Heinen & Hopman has replaced two fresh air units as part of the ventilation upgrade. The original units have been disassembled and the new units were assembled onboard in several parts. Refitting the HVAC of an existing yacht is generally challenging as the available space is very limited and the original design cannot be adjusted. Furthermore, ducting, insulation and spiro piping has been replaced. A third fresh air unit will be replaced in 2017. In addition a monitoring system will be supplied for monitoring and control purpose.

These upgrades are certain to enhance the vessel’s already impressive appeal as a charter yacht.
