HVAC | The Gotham Project
We’re pleased to announce Heinen & Hopman was selected to supply the HVAC for ‘The Gotham Project’, an innovative, bold and exciting superyacht developed through a cooperation between Bristow-Holmes, Ivan Erdevicki, Van Oossanen and ICON Yachts. The stunning 46 metre superyacht performs truly efficient and fast.
The striking exterior features five unique exterior guest zones offering plenty of possibilities for sunbathing, dining, entertaining and relaxing. The exterior was followed through to the interior areas of the yacht, featuring an award-wining design by Ivan Erdevicki as well. The superyacht accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 cabins and features luxurious amenities like a private cinema room, glass wine cellar, gymnasium and walk in fridge/freezers for extended long range cruising.
The Gotham Project is the first in a series of yachts to be built by ICON Yachts in partnership with Bristow-Holmes. The broker looks forward to discussing the project with future prospective purchasers and developing the series further with other purchasers.
The yacht typifies Dutch quality and engineering. Naval architect van Oossanen combined its patented FDHF with the Hull Vane® to achieve 15-20% lower fuel consumption and approximately 1,5 knots additional maximum speed.
Whisper-quiet and draught-free
Heinen & Hopman will provide a complete system for the ventilation and air conditioning of all compartments of the yacht. The system shall be draught-free and whisper-quiet to assure the highest level of comfort for passengers and crew.
The air conditioning installation shall meet the following design conditions:
All living quarters and interior spaces will be provided with fan coil units that receive their fresh air through a fresh air unit. The air conditioning and ventilation system will be carefully balanced to ensure a slight overpressure in the accommodation. This shall prevent contaminated air or smells entering the accommodations.
Engine room ventilation
The engine room shall be fitted with two supply fans and one exhaust fan. The capacity of the fans shall be sufficient for air consumption of the main engines and heat elimination of all equipment.
Other interior spaces will be ventilated as well, either by forced ventilation or by natural ventilation:
- All sanitary spaces will be provided with forced exhaust ventilation.
- All stores, except small stores, and machinery compartments will be provided with forced ventilation.
- Small stores and all other areas will be provided with vent pipes or openings for natural ventilation.
- The ventilation systems for galley and pantries to be designed for a slight under pressure in these spaces to avoid smells through the yacht.
