Teknotherm to establish a dedicated HVAC office

As part of the Teknotherm Marine strategy to become a market leader within maritime HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), a new subsidiary is established with the name Teknotherm Marine HVAC AS. The company is already up and running from the main office in Halden, but will move to and be operating in Bergen from the second quarter this year.

The company in Bergen will play a key role in our focus to build a powerful organisation with high technical skills and ability to deliver according to its customers’ needs. Combined with the Teknotherm refrigeration competence and Heinen & Hopman’s world-wide presence and network the company is sure to be a strong partner nationally and world-wide for designers, yards and owners. ‘As Norwegian Shipyards, Designers and Owners are world-leading for several types of vessels, we see Bergen as an important strategic base for the new activities. We want to be part of this industry and provide high quality, both technically and customer support on global basis. Therefore we are building up an experienced team with skills in the global HVAC market’, says Managing Director, Jon Aksel Brynildsen.

Outside Norway, Teknotherm is already a well-recognized provider of high quality HVAC systems. While in Norway the company has been providing refrigeration machines, which is one of the key elements in a HVAC system, to all the big vendors in Norway for decades.  ‘Teknotherm has a strong brand name within the maritime sector, now we want to develop the brand further and include HVAC even more than earlier’, concludes Group Chief Executive, Roy Moberg.

Until the office in Bergen is opened the work will be managed from the main office in Halden by Jon Aksel Brynildsen as Managing Director and by Christer Mattsson as Sales Director.

Founded in 1926, the Teknotherm Group  is a designer, contract and manufacturer of high quality refrigeration systems. The company’s strategy today is to be the preferred supplier of HVAC and refrigeration systems for marine and offshore installations. With Heinen & Hopman as a principal shareholder of the Teknotherm Group, the Group has taken an offensive strategy to become the leading provider of HVAC and refrigeration systems to the Norwegian market, both nationally and globally.
